Born in Carpentras, trained in Provence and then at the French Tennis Federation's national training centre, Arthur Géa built his career one step at a time, up to his first ATP title in Los Cabos in August 2026.
Arthur Géa was born on 2 January 2005 in Carpentras and grew up in Velleron, a village in the Vaucluse. It was there, aged seven, that he first picked up a racquet.
From seven to thirteen he trained at the Alain Barrère academy in Le Pontet, before joining the Provence regional league. Those Provençal years laid the foundations: technique, repetition, and already the idea of making it a career.
Spotted early, he joined the French Tennis Federation's national training centre in Paris. The pace changed: more hours, more travel, an environment built entirely around high performance.
As a junior he climbed to world No. 8 in January 2023. The year before, he reached the third round of the boys' singles at Roland-Garros and then the US Open. In July 2023 he played the Wimbledon boys' doubles final alongside Branko Đuric.
Turning professional in 2023, Arthur Géa learned his trade on the ITF circuit: four consecutive finals, three titles, then a first Challenger win in Blois. Coached by Tarik Benhabiles through those formative years, he learned the job tournament after tournament.
In 2024 he recorded two landmark wins against established players: Fabio Fognini at the Napoli Cup, Lloyd Harris in Lugano. In 2025 he came through ATP qualifying for the first time, in Marseille, and won the ITF title in Bressuire.
January 2026: Arthur Géa won the Nouméa Challenger in New Caledonia. A few weeks later, in Melbourne, he came through Australian Open qualifying.
In the first round he beat Jiří Lehečka, then a top-20 player, in three sets (7-5, 7-6, 7-5). In the second round he pushed Stan Wawrinka to a fifth set. The season continued with a quarter-final at the ATP 250 in Montpellier, then a main-draw appearance at Roland-Garros against Karen Khachanov.
On the night of 1 to 2 August 2026, Arthur Géa won his first ATP Tour title in Los Cabos, Mexico. In the quarter-finals he saw off Francisco Cerúndolo after 2 hours 40 minutes. In the final he beat defending champion Denis Shapovalov in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).
The following Monday, aged 21, he entered the world's top 100. A path built without shortcuts, from a village club to the main tour.
